Privacy notice
Last updated 2 November 2026Soap and Pawry is a sole-trader dog grooming business in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, run by Lia. This notice explains what we keep about you and your dog when you request a groom, and why.
What we collect
- Your name, email address and mobile number.
- Your dog's name, breed, size, coat, temperament and grooming history, plus anything you tell us in the notes.
- Appointment dates, prices quoted and notes from each groom.
Why we use it
- To reply to your request, quote a price and arrange the appointment (contract).
- To send confirmations, a reminder the day before, and a "ready for collection" message (contract).
- To send a thank-you after the groom and a reminder when the next groom is due (legitimate interest; reply "stop" to any of these and they end).
- To keep notes that make each visit safer and calmer for your dog (legitimate interest).
Who sees it
Only Lia. The data is stored with Supabase (database hosting) and emails are sent through Resend; both act only on our instructions. The website's assistant sends your questions to Anthropic's Claude to generate an answer; it is not used to train their models. We never sell or share your details for marketing.
How long we keep it
Booking records are kept for three years after your last groom so repeat visits are easy, then deleted. You can ask for them to be deleted sooner at any time.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold, or object to the reminder emails. Message us on Instagram or Facebook, or reply to any email from us. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
